5S on-site management is the foundation of modern corporate governance. Since its full implementation, the company has seen clear results. In recent years, as the company has continued to expand and industry competition has intensified, the company organised a monthly 5S assessment and award ceremony to enhance competitiveness, promote high-quality development, meet growing international demands, consolidate improvement gains, and further drive the standardised and routine implementation of 5S management.
The assessment was conducted strictly against 5S standards, covering the five dimensions of Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain. Teams were evaluated on on-site positioning and labelling, equipment maintenance, clear access routes, standardised operations, and employee conduct. Following on-site inspection and quantitative scoring by the review team, the winners were: the Hydraulic Bending Team and the Fittings Packaging Team of the Fittings Workshop, and the Pipe Workshop.
At the award ceremony, Mr Yao Haifeng, General Manager of Mingshi Stainless Steel, presented awards to the winning teams and delivered a summary speech. He fully affirmed the efforts and results of all teams during the improvement phase and stressed that the winning units should serve as benchmarks, consolidating and building on their achievements. He also noted remaining weaknesses, including inconsistent positioning labels, incomplete equipment cleaning, and employee discipline that needs strengthening. He required all teams to benchmark against the best, identify gaps, address shortcomings, and move 5S management from "formality" to "action" and then to "habit," creating a safe, standardised, and efficient production site and elevating the company's on-site management to a new level.
